Belleza, espiritualidad, tristeza. The Innocence Mission son probablemente
el grupo más frágil del universo y las almas sensibles están con
el vello de punta después de la edición de su último lp, "Befriended".
"Think an american Astrud Gilberto making a record with Buffalo
Springfield", decía la tienda londinense Rough Trade en su último
boletín de novedades. "Revisiting the sweet, confessional early-70s
folk of Joni Mitchell and the late-80s lilt of the Sundays and Cocteau
Twins", mantenía un crítico americano. Y es que nadie permanece
indiferente ante la obra del matrimonio Peris y menos cuando el
otoño hace acto de su aparición. Ahora su posible exceso de sentimentalismo
se hace más llevadero e incluso el cristianismo y sus postulados
religiosos se tornan en bellas palabras. Es hora de sacar el abrigo.
El invierno está a la vuelta de la esquina y "Befriended" de The
Innocence Mission suena de fondo en el stereo...
